The Natural Pet Treat Company (NPTC), started operations in January 1999, manufacturing treats that are REAL natural. Short of ‘organic’ these treats have no vaccines, antibiotics, colouring, flavouring, absolutely no ‘nasties’.

We were one of the first off the rank with naturalness and although this has taken a few years to develop markets, we now export to 15 countries and still growing.

LICENSES

NPTC is an export plant with a registered Risk Management Plan (RMP: Treat1/01: NZFSA), USFDA registered, EU License and registration (May 2004).

We are governed by the Animal products Act 1999 and its subsequent amendments. We have a registered Risk management Plan (RMP) overseen, audited (monthly) and approved by the New Zealand Food Safety Authority (NZFSA).

New Zealand government imposes strict controsl on the manufacturing of all food products, including animal food  products.

PRODUCTS:

We manufacture and export 18 product lines of natural treats and keep a healthy level of stock for a turnaround of no more than 1 week.

Zeal natural dog food: this has been 2.5 years in the making, which includes product trials (and tribulations) until we had a product that is beneficial to a dog’s health, shelf stable and different from what’s out in the market. With the help of a well respected and renowned nutritionist, we developed a food that exceeds AFFCO standards, has natural ingredients, shelf stable and above all soft yet dry (note all dry food in the market is hard dry). This soft dry shelf stable concept may be the first in the world?

Further to this we are developing a single serve fully edible (or compostable) container (zero waste) for this food. Packaging trials are completed and only now awaiting further marketing developments.
